Blackwood Hodge is managed by Mick Marriott and Clive Grenfell, and together with their dedicated team, they concentrate on supplying high quality used parts and reconditioned components for Caterpillar equipment to the mining, construction and quarrying industries.
The year 2000 saw Blackwood Hodge take over the old AEG premises in Kew and after an 8 month upgrade now has in excess of 20000 m2 of modern office/storage and workshop space.
In excess of 1200 current and late model Caterpillar machines have been dismantled to date. Once the machines have been dismantled the parts and components are cleaned and checked for reusability by dedicated teams before being sent to various storage areas or to the workshops in order to be rebuilt to Caterpillar specifications. The workshop facilities include 4 modern bays for engine, transmission and differential rebuilds with a test bed suitable for wheel loader and grader transmissions. The latest addition is the hydraulic workshop in which pumps and cylinders are rebuilt and tested. All rebuilds are tested and covered by a 6 month warranty.
